Is your brand strategy “Live, Laugh, Love”?
In my last post I talked about the sea of sameness, how so many brands sound inspirational but say nothing. Today, let's get specific. Here are 5 signs you're accidentally running the "Live, Laugh, Love" strategy (and what to do instead):
1. Your headline could describe 500 other people/brands
❌ "Helping entrepreneurs build authentic brands"
✅ "Brand strategy for B2B consultants who are tired of being the best-kept secret"
The fix: Get specific about WHO and what PROBLEM you are solving for them.
2. Your messaging is full of feelings, light on outcomes
❌ "We're passionate about empowering our clients to reach their full potential"
✅ "We help mid-market tech companies clarify their positioning and close enterprise deals"
The fix: Lead with transformation, not inspiration.
3. You use the same 10 words everyone else does: Passionate. Authentic. Empower. Journey. Transform. Elevate. Shine. Thrive. Impact. Purpose.
The fix: Talk like a human, not a motivational poster.
4. A stranger can't explain what you do after visiting your website. If prospects have to dig through three pages to understand your actual service, that's a problem.
The fix: Lead with clarity. Homepage should answer: What do you do, who's it for, why does it matter?
5. You're trying to appeal to everyone: "I work with anyone looking to level up." Translation: "I don't know who I'm for."
The fix: Narrow your focus. When you speak to everyone, you connect with no one.
TBH, the "Live, Laugh, Love" strategy feels safe, but safe doesn't attract clients or jobs.
That's why I help solopreneurs, small businesses, job seekers, and career switchers stop sounding like everyone else and start standing out so the right people stop scrolling and start connecting.
How many of these 5 do you recognize in your brand?
If you're at 3+, let's talk.
